60 MWh BESS IN SIMO, LAPLAND
SUNGROW HAS DELIVERED ONE OF THE WORLD’S NORTHERNMOST BATTERY POWER PLANTS TO SUPPORT FINLAND’S GRID.
The battery system has a power output of 30 megawatts and a capacity of 60 megawatt-hours. Sungrow is the world’s leading manufacturer of battery energy storage systems, with a mission to bring clean energy everywhere – including herein the northernmost regions of Finland.
The solutions enable a stable power grid as renewable energy sources, such as wind and solar power, are increasingly integrated into Finland’s electricity network.
